Run4Love was developed to reduce high rates of depression in people living with HIV. The intervention consisted with a 12-week cognitive behavioral stress management (CBSM) course delivered via enhanced WeChat platform and personalized physical activity promotion program with tracking and timely feedback on WeChat.

The Run4Love was evaluated with a randomized controlled trial in 300 people living with and depression with 3-, 6-, and 9-month follow-ups. The intervention led to significant reduction in depression (measured by CES-D), chronic stress, and suicidal behaviors at all follow-ups.
